36 Hours in the Hill Country
Getting Started
Debra and I finished our time away with a quick trip to the hill country.  I was going to be a whirlwind tour with very little advance planning.  The only thought we had in advance was to use Marble Falls as a pivot point for our travels.  When we started off we did a quick stop at Poolville to scan for the cemetery plots and homesteads of some relatives.

I was trying to illustrate the speed and pull of life to; what end?

We stopped in Stephenville for b-fast at McD across the street from the university.  Augh-very painful.  The loud chat from the other patrons and the content on the 5 TV displays was maddening.  Regardless, we pressed on.  After Stephenville things were much more peaceful since Debra asked me to drive.  I was having a mild anxiety attack not being the driver.
Wisdom from Firefighters, seemed very gender-centric?

We so love the mighty Prius for these quick road trips.

But next to this thing, there was a hint of shame.
When we got to Hico, we made a quick stop and visited with some folks having a quick bite together sharing some morning fellowship.  They were a great antidote from the vapid chatter we had heard earlier.  Just regular folks.
